This picture shows the lives of African Americans during the Great Depression because it shows that even though race was a pretty big thing back then it still shows that people white and black were having hard times supporting there family's and trying to make a living but it was made harder since segregation was a huge factor in the United States at the time. Many jobs were only given to white people since the company owner only would allow white people to work for him making the lives of Africans Americans much harder than it already was.

This is a photo of a boy who is selling flowers in front of a bank. This is a good example of the Great Depression because sometimes children had to work long hours to try and get money for the family. As you can see not many people are going to get flowers from him. Racism was a big issue back then. The color of someones skin affected a lot of things. One reason that they might not be buying flowers from the boy might have been because of the color of his skin. He seems lonely. He could be using this job to get some money for his family. Seeing children work was also very common during these times. Whites often neglected negro children.

This picture is from the Great depression. It shows an African american family on the road walking. This family has no house and no place to live. They have no way of transportation to places besides there feet and even some of their children are riding in the wheel barrow because they are tired of walking and need to rest while getting pulled along. The great depression was horrible now they have no money so they cant get shelter from storms like rain or tornadoes or even a hurricane they can even be robbed at any time.
